Volteum mobile app - a success story’s next chapter

In early 2019, we started looking for challenges in the field of e-mobility, and wanted to find an answer to our constant fear of running out of charge with electric vehicles. A few months later we took part in the MVM Edison startup competition with our idea, which we won - and this was the beginning of Volteum, that originally started out as a B2C mobile application.

The app was created to help EV drivers plan their routes and make the most of their driving experience. The development started in February 2020, and after months of hard work, we launched the beta version of Volteum in May 2020. We were thrilled by the response from our testers, and in July of that year, we launched the app to the public. We got blown away by the number of users who downloaded and started using Volteum regularly.

Our collaboration with Auchan in 2021 was a significant milestone for us, and we were thrilled to launch the redesigned user interface. This earned us a Blue prize at the RGB Creative Design Award, and we couldn't have been prouder. Throughout the years, we had more than 7000 users, some of whom remain active today.

Over the years, we have received a lot of positive feedback from our users, and we are proud to have been able to provide a useful tool for so many people. In September 2021 we started our first serious collaboration on an international level with e-fleet optimization, and the rest is history. Currently, we help companies with their journey of fleet electrification and smooth EV operation, and the focus shift meant an organic step away from the mobile app version of our solution.

After a long and exciting journey, we will be shutting down the Volteum mobile app on 21 April 2023 due to back-end modifications. Although there were no major updates in the past two years, and new users couldn’t download the app for a long time, we understand that this may come as a disappointment to some of you who may still be using the app regularly. We hope you will understand that this decision has been made after careful consideration and with the best interests of our users in mind. The app won’t disappear from your devices, but you won't be able to use it for route planning anymore - however, you can still open it and reminisce about the journey we've had together.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our users for their support throughout the years. We are grateful for the feedback, suggestions, and bug reports that helped us improve the app and make it a better tool for everyone. We also want to thank our testers, who helped us refine the app during the beta testing phase. Your support was invaluable, and we couldn't have come this far without you.

Although this chapter is closing and we are sad to say goodbye to the Volteum mobile app, we are excited about what the future holds. We are currently working on new projects that we believe will be even more useful and innovative, and we are looking forward to sharing more details about these projects with you.
