Volteum is partnering with Bolt, the first European mobility super-app to encourage and help drivers switch to electric vehicles. The calculator is already available on Bolt’s website and ready to be used to discover the best options for ride-hailing drivers based on tailored and up-to-date information.

Solving EV challenges efficiently

Bolt, a leader in shared mobility solutions across Europe and beyond, partnered with Volteum to assist ride-hailing drivers in their transition to electric vehicles with the Electric Fleet Planner. The tool has already been used internally to develop tailored strategies that make the switch to EVs as seamless and cost-effective as possible in key markets including France and the Netherlands. From now on, an easy-to-use version of the software is also available on Bolt’s website for all ride-hailing drivers in the Netherlands - with plans to expand the solution to additional markets soon - to provide accessible, data-driven decision-making resources directly and instantly for drivers curious about their EV options.

How the integrated Volteum platform works

The integrated Volteum calculator on Bolt’s website is designed to simplify the process of choosing the right electric vehicle model for drivers. Users begin by selecting their preferred vehicle type, which can be sedan, SUV, or hatchback as well as their current fuel type, yearly mileage and average fuel consumption.

The calculator then uses the latest available local fuel and electricity prices in the market and incorporates an assumption of 20% home charging and 80% public charging. You can also select home charging, which adjusts the calculator to a 90% home and 10% public charging ratio.

Based on these inputs, the calculator provides drivers with 5 viable EV options that suit their specific needs. The results page offers comprehensive, up-to-date data on each option, including list prices, range, monthly charging costs, and monthly fuel cost savings. This helps drivers make informed decisions about their switch to EVs.
